  • February 2016 - Marvin Watson joins PPE as a Protection Consultant.  Marvin brings 15+ years of utility experience and comes to PPE from the System Protection Department of Jamaica Public Service Company.  We are happy to have him join the PPE team!
  • October 2015 - Haytham Saeed receives award for "first-of-its-kind-solution" from NEI.  Congratulations Haytham!
  • March 2015 - Tim Burgess awarded "2014 Service to Youth Award" by the YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga.  Tim routinely gives of his time for disadvantaged youth and we are very proud he is part of PPE!
  • March 2015 - Meyer competes in the Maratona di Roma. Go Meyer!

  • June 2015 - Russ Patterson to teach Generator Protection seminar at the 2015 CAPE UGM.
  • January 2015 - Russ was nominated and accepted as U.S. representative to CIGRE Joint Working C4/B5.41 - Challenges with Series Compensation Application in Power Systems when Overcompensating Lines

  • June 2014 - Russ was nominated and accepted as a U.S. representative to CIGRE Working Group C6.30 – The Impact of Battery Energy Storage Systems on Distribution Networks.   More information can be found at http://www.cigre-b5.org/.
  • May 2014 - Cara Hutcherson joins PPE as a Protection Consultant.  Cara brings 10+ years of utility experience including the past six years in TVA's System Protection & Analysis group.  We are happy to have her on the PPE team!
  • December 2013 - Patterson Power Engineers was retained under subcontract to EnerNex by the New York New Jersey Super Bowl Host Committee and PSE&G to provide independent engineering consulting support to help ensure that the power systems serving the stadium and other event venues are ready and able to handle the expected load and perform well under a wide range of contingencies.  
  • November 2013 - Lee Goudelock joins PPE as a Protection Consultant.  Lee brings 20 years of industrial and power system experience and we are happy to have him join our team!
  • August 2013 - Tim Burgess joins PPE as a Protection Consultant.  Tim brings over 22 years of power system experience and PPE is very happy to have him on our team!

  • August 2012 - Josh Perkins joins PPE as a Principal Consultant.  Josh brings over five years of protection and control design experience and PPE is very happy to have him on our team!
  • March 2012 - John Allen Bradley joins PPE as a Principal Consultant.  John spent the last decade in System Protection & Analysis at TVA in Chattanooga where he calculated setpoints for relays protecting generation and transmission assets.  PPE is very pleased that John Allen has decided to join our team!
  • March 2012 - Russ Patterson was nominated and accepted as a U.S. representative to CIGRE Working Group B5.47 – Network Protection Performance Audits.  The WG pertains to Wide Area Coordination studies covering vast numbers of relays studied in aggregate using tools such as CAPE.  More information can be found at http://www.cigre-b5.org/.
  • October 27, 2011 - PPE was pleased to host a meeting with Dr. Chul-Hwan Kim from Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul Korea, Mr. Jong-Hyuk Lee assistant director at Korea Power eXchange, and protection engineers from the Tennessee Valley Authority.  The core discussion centered around automatic reclosing practices at the transmission level as Dr. Kim and Mr. Lee are investigating changes to the reclosing practices in the country.

          The meeting was very productive and beneficial.
